Cloud Native Network Functions (CNFs) are containerized instances of a classic physical or virtual network functions (VNF). A fast dataplane incorporating current and future VNFs functions is tablestakes. Exposing the CNF dataplane to applications and plugins requires a control plane agent with APIs.
